Social media has a lot of faults, but it also has the potential to strengthen a community and open your eyes to new things. Recently, I asked my Instagram community for their favorite games and… you definitely delivered! I debated how to share the list of games and a blog post seemed the simplest way for the quantity shared. So, without further ado… The Best Family Games According to Instagram.

Family Game Night Basket
There’s no arguing that family games are a great way to make memories and strengthen family bonds. For the past three or four years, I’ve put together a Family Game Night Basket for my kids for Christmas. It’s nothing fancy, just an empty amazon box wrapped in festive paper and stuffed with some games and snacks.
This upcoming year, based on the recommendations above, I plan on including Ticket to Ride, Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, Exploding Kittens, Azul, and Sushi Go.
I chose those games based on the recommendations and the names. Kittens, cats, tacos, and sushi are all VERY popular in our house, so these games will be fun AND my kids will get a kick out of the names. Oh, and Azul had a pretty box. That’s important, right?
If your family has a favorite game that didn’t make this list, I’d LOVE to hear about it! In fact, I’ll add it in after you comment. Drop a note below and let me know!

We are big on games in our house and some of our go to games are already on your list ( Carcassone (the app is great too for when you are traveling), Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, and Rummikub). Here are some that aren’t on the list:
Magic labyrinth
Ghost fighting treasure hunters (cooperative game)
Molerats in space (cooperative game)
Battle sheep
Can’t catch Harry
Noctiluca
Patchwork Doodle
Abandon all Artichokes
Have fun!!
I know I shouldn’t judge a game by the title… but those all sound amazing! lol
Thanks so much for the suggestions, I’m going to get them up there!! 🙂
